Default Preparing for Dragon Festival?

Hi!

Is there a way one could prepare him/herself for the upcoming Dragon Festival?
Dragon Festival 2008
Victory Tokens would be our 'main item to look for' to trade them for the items like Bottle Rocket etc. when the event is already on I suppose?
And I think there aren't many things one could do, like farm some collectable items etc. beforehand.. or is there something I missed?

Well, since there haven't been any collectors for the Dragon festival like Halloween or Wintersday, there aren't any trophies to save up. However...

You can save up you in-town speed buffs for playing in the wurm pit (whatever it's called), and you can save up a ton of gold to waste on festival tickets for AFKing 9-rings.

The only thing I tell my guild to do pre-DF is to have all characters past Minister Cho's if they plan on doing quests.

Also, Dragon Festival is a good time to vanquish some of the Shing Jea areas as there's less monsters in a lot of the maps. So if you're planning on vanqing soon, you might want to hold off on those, especially if you usually have trouble in 4 man areas.

Money is about the only thing you can save up in advance if you really want to afk the rings. Alcohol too if you want to double up the ring farming with alcohol consumption.

Otherwise everything has to be done on the weekend.

Yes. Stock up on boose, sparklers, and make sure you don't do anything that day. Oh yea! and lottery ticket thingies! :P

Thanks all for the answers, now I don't have to be suspicious that I'd miss something ^^
So I'll just continue collecting 'some' gold until I hit 1000k
"10,000 minutes is 6 days, 22 hours, and 40 minutes." So I think I still won't be doing the Drunkard-title on my way from 29 to 30 maxed..
I kinda hoped the event would bring us some Party points but meh :3 Have to wait even more for that then..

Those can be exchanged during the festival for sparklers, poppers, and rockets if you want. Doing just the 4 quests awards you with 240, or 48 fireworks. There are many other ways to acquire tokens during the festival as well.

Yes, by switching off local chat.....to avoid the endless deluge of "has the festival started?" messages
